Rio Tinto Alcan Gove (RTAG) reconnected it’s bauxite stockpile conveyor system with the shiploader conveyor system after curtailing the alumina refinery.

Project Overview

This work included:

  • Mechanical and electrical reinstatement of overland conveyor C6-8
  • Partial demolition and modifications to transfer tower TT6-19 to facilitate installation of new surge bin and apron feeder
  • Raise transfer tower TT6-7 4.5m to facilitate installation of new surge bin and apron feeder
  • Fabrication and installation of surge bins and structural steel for TT6-19 and TT6-7
  • Fabrication and installation of conveyor C6-18 to connect TT6-19 and TT6-7 to C6-8

Scope of Work

Goodline's scope of work included Civil, SMP, E&I:

  • Drafting, Supply and installation of all structural steel
  • Partial demolition works to 3 Transfer Towers and 1 conveyor
  • Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Electrical Construction all materials handling systems
  • Civil and Concreting
  • Commissioning support
  • 42,000 man-hours
